The Impact of Fear on an Evolving Consciousness
Before there were time, space, and our universe, there existed an infinite Desire to Give and nothing else. But that Desire to Give was not self-aware. For self-realization to occur there had to be a mirror, a reflection, and “outside.” So to solve that problem the Giver created an opposite and Infinite Desire to Receive. And for a while, the Desire to Give and the Desire to Receive blended in a perfect alchemical marriage in which every need of the Receiver was instantaneously fulfilled by the Giver.
But the Receiver became emancipated and evolved a need to give back to the Giver or earn the gift that it was receiving. A tremendous amount of shame started to build up until the Receiver finally said “no more gifts” to the Giver. Instantaneously, the Receiver, which was infinite, collapsed down to the size of the head of a pencil.
The shrunken Receiver began to experience fear. For the first time, there was separation from Infinity and Source. Now there existed an “outside” that could have ill intentions toward the Receiver.
Fear is connected to the perception that outside forces may have malevolent intentions against you. As a means to protect self and survive, you fight, flee, or play dead. It is rooted in a reptilian core survival program in which instincts take over to guarantee that you continue to be. But fear is not always triggered by an actual threat. Sometimes it is perceived and not actual. A situation may appear threatening but may turn out to be beneficial. However this fact does not stop the impact of the fear trigger and survival conditioning that are programmed in you. Your body will react as if your life were in danger, causing you release hormones that will put you on high alert and stress your body.
Since we live in a world and culture dominated by the propagation of thoughts about fear, separation, and lack, most of our fears are merely perceived, rather than actual. In the final analysis, they are only real threats if we allow them to have power over us. How our consciousness interprets the perception of a potential threat makes all the difference in the world. What starts out to be a fear trigger may turn into an opportunity to demonstrate mastery.
Having said this, be cognizant that fear plays an essential role in the maintenance of the ego. Without the original fear and the perception of separation from Infinity, the realization of personal boundaries would be impossible. In other words, the id, I, or self-awareness cannot exist without this perception of separation caused by the fragmentation from Source. It is within the fear caused by this separation that the ego and self-awareness exist. Therefore fear plays an important and critical role in the evolution of our consciousness. Without it there is no ego and no self-awareness. We need the fear to monitor our environment for potential threat, keep us safe, and allow us to survive. What we don’t need are the fears that are perceived and not real for they can cause us to run, move against the world, or recoil in fetal positions as victims.
Too much fear will paralyze and block our consciousness from evolving. No fear will eliminate self-awareness and take us into a state of group consciousness. Between these two extremes exists a vast range of expressions of consciousness.
Although fear can attach itself to all parts of our body as energy cords or as the physical contraction of cells, tissues, muscles, and organs of the body, causing pain, discomfort, and disease, the main location to which fear connects is between the pelvis near the psoas muscle in the spot that the Taoist Masters call the Dan Tien. This center is part of a system referred to in occult writing as the three indestructible atoms or the three prana seeds. These are the parts of us that are immortal and that hold all primordial memories. There are two other locations: one above the head, connecting us to Spirt and our God concept, and one in our heart space, which eliminates the illusion of separation. The upper locations are familiar to most light chasers, but the third spot is a minefield into which few venture.
In the Dan Tien, we hold all power, control, and will issues. All repressed and suppressed feelings and emotions are found there. We hold in this place all fears and shame. This is a complex system that captures the power of the kidneys with fight or flight responses, imagine or real; the sexual and reproductive organs with all unhealthy sexual expression and repression; and power and control issues, either capitulation or abuse of power.
Do the following meditation: Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Allow the Universal Life Force that permeates everything to enter into your heart. Breathe deeply and slowly, and let your head drop in the middle of your pelvic bones. Notice what you notice. You are here to witness and observe. Do not judge what you perceive. Just pay attention to any details that you sense. What do you perceive? Is it static or dynamic? What are you feeling? Are you seeing anything? Whatever you sense, just observe it and repeat: “Please forgive me. I love you and I let go.” Become aware of any locations where you are holding fears and shame. Notice what you notice. “Please forgive me. I love you and I let go.” Take a deep breath, and allow the Light of Source to blend into these points and dissolve them. Become aware of any locations where you are holding anger. Notice what you notice. “Please forgive me. I love you and I let go.” Take a deep breath and allow the Light of Source to blend into these points and dissolve them. Become aware of any locations where you are holding sexual repression. Notice what you notice. “Please forgive me. I love you and I let go.” Take a deep breath and allow the Light of Source to blend into these points and dissolve them. Become aware of any locations where you are holding victimization. Notice what you notice. “Please forgive me. I love you and I let go.” Take a deep breath and allow the Light of Source to blend into these points and dissolve them. Become aware of any locations where you are holding abuse of power. Notice what you notice. “Please forgive me. I love you and I let go.” Take a deep breath and allow the Light of Source to blend into these points and dissolve them.
Allow the Light of a benevolent and supportive Universe to envelop that point in your body. “Thank you for the blessing. I accept the gifts and I receive with gratitude.” Take a deep breath, and when you are ready, open your eyes.
