THE LIBERATION OF ACTIVE LISTEN 

Most of us hear, but few of us LISTEN. When we hear, we are engaging the cerebral cortex that assesses, measures, and calculates in order for us to react while remaining safe. It is directly connected to our survival instinct that uses this sense to analyze sounds for possible danger and respond appropriately so that we can continue to exist. As one of our five senses, it helps us adapt our self-awareness, intelligence, and cunning to external stimulus. The development of our ego identity and our perception of separation form others is directly connected to this. Thus, we often hear so that we can react and be safe. The response in not always about appropriate and heart centered communication, but is about giving SELF the advantage and upper hand. We do this continually and unconsciously. When two parties are communicating while doing this; conflicts and disagreements are difficult to resolve.

LISTENING is a different process. It is the combination of the analysis of the frontal lobe and the feeling sensed by the heart. Both the heart and mind are equally engaged in the interpretation of sound, data, feeling, and intuitive knowing that result in a heartfelt evaluation. For you to listen, you have to stop trying to be RIGHT. Instead, you have to be a WITNESSand become NONATTACHED to whom or what you are listening too. In other words, you have to disengage the survival switch and remain quiet to truly HEARwhat is being presented without your internal fears and triggers popping off. Being neutral and remaining silent at a soul level will initiate the process. What is being presented WILL NOT HARM YOU. JUST BE SILENT AND LISTEN WITHOUT JUDGING.

The modern term for this in COHERENCE, but the old shaman called this “THE SECOND ATTENTION.” It is easy to see the value of this kind of communication between two parties, but to my mind the greatest value is to learn how to listen to our own inner traumas, fears, and brokenness?

Lady Quan Ying whose name means: “She who Hears the Suffering of the World,” did not set out to LISTEN to the pain of the world. She went to Fragrance Mountain to listen to the trauma and pain left by the abuse that she endured. As she sat without judgement listening to her inner brokenness; she found that she was flawed and imperfect. She learned to ACCEPT this and to still LOVE HERSELF. Deep and profound healing and eventually enlightenment resulted from this. It was at that moment that this inner listening ability emancipated and she began to hear the suffering of the world.

I can share that using the Quan Ying Heart Sutra practice allowed me to have more than a dozen major healing breakthrough in one year. To my mind this is the rocket ship path to GOD.

How to be Present? Presence is being in the now. For that to happen, we have to be non-attached and neutral to the past, future, the disturbances in the world, and even the idea of survival. It is a state of non-judgment where we become so conscious that we observe our thoughts, actions, and reactions. It is about us becoming a WITNESS to ourselves.

How to plug into abundant flow? Although we are being triggered into survival, there exist in us an axis that connects us to abundant flow. The survival axis may be dominant, but the flow axis is also there. To find it, you have to go into the morphogenic listening state and listen first to all the fears and let them demonstrate to you the false beliefs that are holding them in place. Once you past that point, you will find ease and flow.

Finding your Tribe and Community: Given all the rapid planetary changes that are taking place, none of us will fare well alone. We will need to find our community and tribe to create support, exchange, and resiliency. Moreover, we are social animal. We need others to thrive. What that looks like in a world that is constantly changing may be a challenge, but this is what we need to do to thrive.

Georgie Ayala:

Georgie Ayala was born in a small town near San Juan, Puerto Rico. His mother was a renowned healer and Georgie remembers people lining up, waiting to receive her assistance. Georgie soon realized he had his mother’s gift when he became aware of the colorful auric energy fields that surround us, indicating our health, past, and well-being. This awareness led him to study Reiki and become a Master/Teacher of Reiki/Karuna Reiki Healing and Rising Star Healing System.

Georgie began his professional career after receiving his B.A. in Interior Design from the Liceo of Arts in San Juan. After furthering his education in textiles, color, and Ikebana Floral Healing Design he moved to New York and began designing for leading fashion, and interior houses.

Georgie is able to translate his healing ability into his interior designs by tapping into and balancing the surrounding energy, creating harmony within. This knowledge guided him to become a Feng Shui and Vastu Consultant. Seeking to further his own spiritual journey, Georgie traveled to India. There, he became a Lama, a teacher of the Dharma in Tibetan Buddhism, and learned to perform Pujas, a powerful ceremony to remove negative energy from people, and situations.

While living in Paris, France he opened a private practice in the 8 arrondissements and continued his studies in Ireland, Tibet, India, and Peru.

He has been practicing now in New York City for about 20 years.
